For the coffers and the crowd

The Queenstown Mountain Bike Club’s season is off to a flying start – adding $1450 to its coffers and 30 new members.

The first Gorge Road Jump Sessions for summer attracted a healthy crowd of spectators and more than 40 riders to the ‘world class’ mountain bike dirt jump park on Saturday.

Club president Lance Brown has been overwhelmed by the support the club is already receiving and the gold coin donations collected last weekend will go towards the maintenance of the park.

“It was a super successful event and it was great to see such a broad spectrum of riders ranging from eight to 58-years-old,” he says.

“There are a lot of volunteer hours going into keeping the park at its world-class standard so we can continue to have these big events.”

The next club jam event is at the Wynyard Terrain Park on January 16.
