Close calls

There were thrills and spills aplenty last Saturday as the top-ranked teams in the Premier and Senior A grades went head to head.

The most exciting game was the showdown between GRC and High School 1, which went right to the wire. GRC needed to pull out all the stops in the last quarter to win – and that’s exactly what they did.

The last two minutes saw them play some of their best netball of the season.

The extra burst allowed them to squeak home 42-39, with Koto Bakani coolly slotting GRC’s final shot on the buzzer.

GRC’s win brings them to first equal on the leaderboard with defending premier champions Altitude.
Competition is still extremely tight in Senior A with three teams tied for first.

Cougar Security’s loss to WHS 2 means they drop to fourth while Executive Accommodation joins WHS 2 and Year 9 at the top of the table after a 12-goal win over Year 9 on Saturday.

Ones to watch

The top four Premier teams will be the ones to look out for this Saturday as High School 1 take on Altitude at 12.30pm and Chico’s/ABL play GRC at 2pm. Both should be great games and it’ll be interesting to see if High School can upset an in-form Altitude.
