Three-time world champion snowboarder Jamie Anderson will contest the 11th Billabong Bro Down competition at Snow Park NZ this weekend.
The slopestyle event will see some of the world’s top riders bang out eye-popping tricks over a dozen jumps and course features.
The 2012 competitor list features Ticket To Ride world number three and defending event champion Roope Tonteri of Finland, world number five the USA’s Eric Beauchemin, Norway’s Jorn Simen, USA female star Anderson and Finnish snowboard star Antti Autti.
The event is part of the TTR World Snowboard Tour, which sees a number of independent freestyle events come together under one tour flag.
A TTR spokesman says: “The Billabong Bro Down is set to be one of the most exciting snow-sports events this winter.
“The prize-pool sits at $37,000 and as expected, the course features up to a dozen hits just to make things really interesting.”
Preliminary rounds of the men, women and junior categories are from 9.30am to 2.45pm on Friday, with the finals from 10.30am to 3.15pm on Saturday at the park, on Cardrona Valley Road, Wanaka.
