Arrowtown and Wakatipu rugby teams pour on the points


Both local Premiers rugby teams who played last Saturday enjoyed overwhelming wins.

Arrowtown thrashed Matakanui-Combined 74-0 at their Jack Reid Park home ground.

Captain and loose forward Ben Chisholm scored five tries and Kane Dodds and Eddie Sefo each crossed for two.

The other try scorers were Iain Banks, Tyne Schofield and Dan Eyles while Dodds also kicked seven conversions.

Arrowtown remain third on the Central Otago points table with only one loss from their eight games.

Meanwhile, the Wakatipu Wanderers won only their second game of the season at last Saturday.

They beat Cromwell B 50-20 at the Queenstown Recreation Ground. The main Wakatipu side had a bye last weekend.
