Queenstown batsman Brett Anderson lets loose as Albion’s Paul Kane looks on during the home side’s seven-wicket win at the Events Centre last Saturday.
In their final match of the year, the senior men’s cricket team put behind them the previous week’s poor display against Blackstone Hill.
Batting first, Albion was rolled for 137 – Dipen Tandel was again Queenstown’s best bowler, taking four wickets for 31 runs. Hayden Cosgrove took three for 39.
“It was a good bowling performance and good catching – the week before we’d dropped six,” Queenstown batsman Jarred Andrew says. “Batting-wise, we also had the highest opening partnership of the season with 60-odd runs for the first wicket, which got us a good start.”
Queenstown’s next match is on January 9 at Alexandra.
