The Southern Lakes tennis team – representing Queenstown and Wanaka – has won a sixth straight quadrangular title.
Southern Lakes’ A team beat both Otago and Southland by eight matches to four in Dunedin at the weekend.
Southern Lakes A was led by captain and men’s number one Mark Milburn, who played with guts and grit to win a tight 7-6 7-6 battle with Otago’s number one Sam Poulter.
Team mates were James Smith, Harry James, Chris Bradley and Tim Medland. The women’s team, led by number one Louise Oxnevad, also included Suma Ito, Hannah Speight and Sarah Patterson.
The Southern Lakes B team failed to make the final in the B grade – which was eventually won by Otago.
