Education Minister Anne Tolley (right) admits the Frankton site earmarked for the new Remarkables school “has its problems”.
But Tolley, in Queenstown on Tuesday to meet the school’s establishment board, remains confident the new Year 1-8 primary will be a success when completed next year.
The small Lake Avenue site restricts the size of the primary – and to accommodate future growth in the Wakatipu, another new school is required between Frankton and Arrowtown, she says.
Meanwhile, everything’s on track for construction of Remarkables school – due to start on April 21.
Yesterday morning Tolley signed the contract for Naylor Love to start building.
