Steve Robb hits the revs during a test run for a marathon scooter ride.
Queenstown Motorcycles is giving him free use of a scooter for a hardcore endurance trip for prostate cancer. Robb joins several hundred participants in the Southern Scooter Challenge on Saturday.
Entrants are only allowed to ride scooters for the tough 220km trip from Bluff to Queenstown.
“This is not a relaxing day out – it's designed to be the coldest, longest, hardest, most gruelling and uncomfortable test of endurance on a city scooter to raise money and awareness for the Prostate Cancer Foundation,” the challenge website says.
More than 600 Kiwi men die annually from prostate cancer.
