Queenstown’s Remarkable Theatre is a registered charity again – just two days after last week’s story about being deregistered.
An email from the Charities Commission last Saturday – sighted by Mountain Scene – says the group’s reinstatement application has been accepted.
Remarkable Theatre was struck off in May for not filing 2011 financials in the proper form by deadline.
The rapid re-registration has surprised group president Jane Robertson – last week, she said it could take a long time to be re-registered.
Robertson also wants to put right incorrect information from an earlier story which re-ran as background last week.
The group’s Tapanui Tanzi show four years ago lost only about $10,000, not $40,000 as Mountain Scene was told, Robertson says.
