Horseshoe-shaped: An artist's impression of part of the next stage of Remarkables Residences

Some of the most affordable apartments in Queenstown’s Frankton hub have come to the market.

The next stage of Remarkables Residences comprises 91 one- and two-bedroom apartments.

The one-bedders are priced from just $499,000 and the two-bedders from $760,000.

An attractive feature of the two-bedders is their dual-key potential, so you can live in one and rent out the other.

The first stage of Remarkables Residences, by the Queenstown Central shopping complex, comprised 56 sold-out four- and five-bedroom townhouses, which are close to completion.

Bayleys Queenstown agent Sheryl Williams, who’s marketing the next stage with colleague Mark Martin, says when they were selling the first stage a lot of people enquired about the option of single-level one- or two-bedders they could live in but also lock and leave for a few months over winter, for example.

The standard one-bedroom units are 66.9 square metres, including decks, and the two-bedders range from 99.6sqm.

Local Bayleys managing director David Gubb says they’re generously-sized considering a lot of two-bedders are only about 65sqm.

Williams says the product will suit owner-occupiers and investors, as well as those after a holiday unit.

Owner-occupiers could be working or retired couples or individuals, she adds.

Many first-home buyers are looking for this sort of product, Gubb says, as they can’t afford local house and section prices.

The dual-income option also gives good yields, he notes.

Bayleys is offering a free carpark and furniture package for the first 25 sales.

Construction’s due to start in the third or fourth quarter of next year, for completion by mid-2022.
