An agent from a small Queenstown realtor’s won two gongs at the only New Zealand real estate awards based on customer feedback.

In the NZ segment of Australasia’s RateMyAgent Awards, recently held in Melbourne, Tall Poppy’s Dee Molnar was ‘agent of the year; for Queenstown’s Lake Hayes Estate and 77th out of NZ’s top 100 agents.

Molnar says she’s thrilled as she’s only in her second year in the industry, and there are about 150 agents in Queenstown alone.

After 18 months, she’s just got her 18th property under contract.

Nine of those sales have been at Lake Hayes Estate, $1.2 million being the highest price.

Molnar’s also brokered the highest sale at entry-level Bridesdale Farm – $880,000 for a three-bedroom home.

She says she was attracted to work for Tall Poppy due to its lower fees structure, and it looked like its service level was the same or even higher than other agencies.

Molnar attributes her success to being trustworthy and “over-communicating” with vendors.

Meanwhile, she’s auctioning a ‘half-price house sale’ – charging a client half the normal agency fee – at Queenstown Primary School’s fair on March 28.
