Lotta' miles: Bernard Robinson is ecstatic as he nears the finish of a 100km running race in Australia
A Queenstowner has posted a top-20 finish in a grueling 100km running race across the ditch.

Queenstowner Bernard Robinson, 40, finished 19th in The North Face 100 in Australia’s Blue Mountains last Saturday.

His time was 11 hours 50 minutes and six seconds.

Robinson earlier this year finished seventh in the Coast to Coast one-dayer which sees entrants traverse the width of the South Island.

Also among the 637 finishers of the 100km run was Queenstown ultramarathoner Tracey Woodford.

Woodford, 36, finished 27th out of 132 female finishers in 15:13.21sec.

Last week she told Mountain Scene she was confident she’d be a finisher – “Mentally, I’m very strong.”

Local Morgan Garandel, 36, who also entered, pulled out at the 54km mark due to injury.
