'Auckland move': Queenstown bouncer Jonathan Dixon
The Queenstown bouncer at the centre of Tindallgate during last year’s Rugby World Cup has plans to move to Auckland.

Jonathan Dixon, 41, appeared in the Invercargill District Court today (Thursday) for a pre-trial callover of two charges he faces.

The first, dishonestly accessing a computer system, relates to CCTV footage from inside Queenstown bar Altitude, which Dixon uploaded to YouTube. It showed English rugby star Mike Tindall – who had just married the Queen’s granddaughter Zara Phillips - partying with an ex-girlfriend.

The second, wounding with reckless disregard causing grievous bodily harm, was laid after an alleged Queenstown assault in January at Subculture nightclub - it left the victim Jordan Sinke, 26, in an induced coma.

Sinke later had brain surgery and a 10 to 12cm bone flap was removed from his skull.

Dixon’s counsel Kate McHugh said there were no pre-trial matters that needed addressed, although there were some logistical issues involving the location of some witnesses and costs associated with engaging a computer expert.

“There was an application by [Dixon] to vary his bail, to live in Auckland. Because of cost issues he has delayed that,” McHugh told the court.

Crown Solicitor Mary-Jane Thomas said Dixon’s trial would most likely go ahead next year.

Judge Kevin Phillips further remanded Dixon on bail to reappear on August 9.

Oh so that wasn't him in the youtube video ed?
How come it takes so long for all this to go to trial? Next year? Seriously?

Editor's note
Please remember when commenting that Dixon remains innocent until his case is heard and his guilt or otherwise is proven.

Hmmm. Local seems oblivious of the reality here. Dixon was behind allegedly accessing video that made world news, and now faces a serious assault charge after a local bar manager suffered a head injury. There must be only one person in Queenstown who wouldn't consider that to be news and his initials are JD.

What I have to ask is who really cares about this kitchen hand. Is he really headline Qtown news?
I mean really?
