Tennis ace: Queenstown-coached Emilia Price, of Winton, is the Auckland girls under-12 tennis champion
Ace player: Queenstowner tennis player Bjorn Pollock is the Auckland boys under-12 tennis champion
Two Queenstown-coached youngsters have shaken up the Auckland tennis scene.

Queenstowner Bjorn Pollock (pictured), 12, took out the Auckland Junior Championships under-12 singles title last week.

Bjorn, showing no respect for seedings, won six round-robin matches in a row and then three more in a top-eight knockout round to win overall.

Bjorn’s fellow Queenstown Tennis Academy player Emilia Price (pictured), who is 11 and comes over from Winton to train, won the girls under-12 singles and doubles.

Academy director and assistant coach Dave Pollock, Bjorn’s dad, says it’s a great result for the kids and the academy.

“It certainly ruffled a few feathers up there.”
