The coach of the Queenstown senior women’s hockey side reckons her team is peaking heading into this Saturday’s semi-final.

Coach Linda Paki Paki, who also plays in the team, says she has the utmost faith that her side can pull it together against Cromwell at Cromwell at 4pm.

“We have definitely just come together as a unit really well especially in the last six weeks. We’re peaking at the right time.”

Cromwell dealt to Queenstown in their first match of the season. In the second, Cromwell won a much closer battler 4-3 and two weeks back Queenstown beat them 3-2. Queenstown goes into the semi seeded third, while Cromwell is placed second.

Paki Paki says Queenstown is at full strength although centre Kate Gilbert was sporting a black eye after being hit by a flying hockey ball last weekend.

In the other semi, top-of-the-table Alexandra face fourth-placed team Maniototo at 2.30pm – also at Cromwell.
