A Queenstown Cricket Club side has taken down an Otago Boys’ High team featuring star Queenstown youngster Michael Collins.

Collins, who grew up in the Wakatipu, is the Otago Boys First XI captain and is pictured here on his way to scoring 19 runs after being put into bat.

Otago Boys made 145 in their 50 overs.

High-achiever Collins, who also captains the school’s top rugby team, could not inspire his cricket team to victory as the Queenstown club’s bowlers hit form.

Fraser Wilson took two for 21 off 10 overs, with Sean McKone and Cam Fawkner also taking two wickets each.

Wilson and Kyle Paterson both scored 35 each with the bat as the Queenstown club won with 146 for 6.
Collins, 18, recently played for NZ Schools in a rugby Test against Australian Schools in Sydney.
