Christmas cracker: Simon Green stars as Santa in Christchurch alongside Frankie Stevens
LOCAL showbiz stalwart Simon Green (pictured) has discovered a new way of losing weight quickly – just play Santa. As well as a traditional outfit, Green also squeezed into a rubber fat-suit to appear as Father Christmas for 120,000 people in sweltering heat at Christchurch’s North Hagley Park last Saturday. “I must have dropped a couple of kilos,” he says.

STUNNING Aussie X-Factor judge Natalie Imbruglia relaxed in the resort after finishing the latest series of the popular TV talent show. She was spotted stocking up on groceries at the Alpine supermarket last Sunday and was also seen fishing from a boat on Lake Wakatipu.

ASKED for a news website to nominate the scariest thing he’s done or witnessed, Prime Minister John Key nominated standing on Queenstown’s Nevis bungy platform. He added that travelling around downtown Kabul also rated up there.

A POWERFUL 42-second ad on binge drinking produced by Wakatipu High’s ‘Youth Access to Alcohol’ students has an accompanying credit: “No alcohol was consumed in the making of this film.” There also wasn’t any alcohol available when the ad premiered on Thursday night at Reading Cinemas.
