The keen snow bunnies eye up some of the goods on offer at Sunday’s Wakatipu ski and snowboard sale. The annual Events Centre fundraiser for Wakatipu Ski Club attracts thousands of people searching for cheap ski and snowboard gear.
Sale manager Peter Devine’s predicting bumper sales – because of the economic climate.
“Historically, we get about 1300 private sellers [bringing gear to sell]. This year, given what is happening [with the economy], it could be significantly above that. We are really getting goods to the average family who probably couldn’t afford to ski if they didn’t get really good prices.”
Doors are open for private sellers to drop gear off between 9.30-11.30am, with the sale itself running from
