Queenstown events maestro Simon Green will be running the resort’s Winter Festival again next year.

Destination Queenstown, which owns the resort’s biggest party, announced Green’s reappointment as festival director this afternoon.

Green (pictured) has five years of managing the winter bash under his belt. He returned to the helm of this year’s extravaganza after a two-year break.

DQ boss Tony Everitt says Green and the festival team did a fantastic job of the 2010 event and he’s happy Green’s on-board for next year’s gig.

“One of the major challenges of ensuring a long-running event is successful is to keep it fresh and we believe Simon has the flair, creativity and professionalism to deliver that,” Everitt says.

“Thriller in the Chiller, the festival’s biggest new event this year, was a huge success and Simon has plenty more exciting ideas up his sleeve for next year.”
