Windy weather played havoc with Coronet Peak’s Summer Daze end-of-season celebrations today (Sunday) – but at least there was music.
A planned relay race was canned after blustery conditions caused the Express chair to close, snow volleyball was cancelled and frisbee golf was relocated a couple of times to potential gust-free spots.
But the Queenstown Ukulele Orchestra kept snow revellers entertained inside.
A Taupo visitor even sat out some ski runs to hear the eight-strong act play.
“The rest of the family has actually gone skiing and I decided to stay to watch this – I think it’s fantastic,” Peter Gillespie says.
