A high-profile Wakatipu man has been committed for trial over an indecent assault charge.
The man appeared before the registrar at Alexandra District Court on Monday.
He has been granted bail and is to appear at Dunedin District Court on July 5, when a date for trial by judge without a jury will be set.
The man has been ordered to not contact or attempt to contact witnesses or the female complainant and her family.
The charge stems from an alleged incident last November.
He told the registrar that he would be seeking the help of a Queen’s Counsel in Auckland.
“We’re not lying down,” the accused man told the court.
