Little Annabelle Bartlett (above) is eager to get her hands on the new toys at Queenstown Plunket.
The Henry Street Plunket rooms have recently had a delivery of goodies for toddlers thanks to a grant from the Central Lakes Trust.
It’s the first time in several years toys have been able to be bought for local youngsters who access the service and the arrival is part of a small revamp of the rooms, Plunket vice-president Nicky Thompson says.
“We hope these toys will make a difference to mums and children using the rooms as a place to drop in and feed whilst in town or when attending one of the many parenting groups we run,” she says.
“I had lots of fun unpacking the toys and as soon as the toys were unpacked excited children started playing with them – it was great to see.”
The trust grant was for $3028. The refurbishment has also included the end room being painted and a new storage unit purchased.
“Our next project will be to look at what we can do to improve the outside of the rooms,” Thompson says.
