The Queenstown and Southern Lakes Pipe Band tunes up for its first appearance at the national championships in Timaru next month.

Bagpipers from the Wakatipu will perform three pieces at the March 4 and 5 event – and it’ll be invaluable experience for the youngsters, pipe major Keith Cameron says.

“We might be making our debut at the champs but we’ll give it our all against some very experienced competition,” Cameron adds.
