– Which rival media managed to balls-up the name of Anderson Lloyd legal beagle and rowing coach Annabel Ritchie? The newspaper referred to her as Annabel Anderson Lloyd. 

– A hitchhiker used novel wording to try to cadge a ride on the Frankton corner last Sunday afternoon. His sign read: “Dunedin (I Don’t Smell).” 

– Council boss Adam Feeley’s comment in Mountain Scene last week that his wife can’t pay rates at the Arrowtown Library brought this response from a reader: “Have he and his wife thought of paying their rates online?” 

– When local event manager Simon Green couldn’t MC last Friday’s TEDx Queenstown forum, he had a ready solution. Green whistled in his very competent older brother, Murray Strong – a brother he didn’t know he had till four years ago. Green’s parents had Strong adopted out at birth. 

– So much for local knowledge. Ex-mountain bike racer Blair Christmas suffered the ignominy of breaking his arm during the Queenstown Bike Festival – on the very downhill course he designed.
