Sep 2006: Earthworks begin at Five Mile’s ‘Hendo’s Hole’.

Early 2007: QLDC starts shelling out $700,000 on landscaping sports fields despite land swap
not legally completed. 

Jun 2008: Land swap finally agreed between Five Mile and QLDC – council gets 2.3ha for two sports fields, Five Mile gets council land by Grant Rd. No money changes hands. 

Jul 2008: Five Mile Holdings goes broke – receivers reject land swap. 

Nov 2009: Tony Gapes buys part of Five Mile including sports fields, agrees with QLDC to thrash out sports field sale within a year. 

Nov 2010: Ratepayers will finally learn how much QLDC has to pay for sports field land.
