Throngs of TRENZ delegates and queues of coaches at the Events Centre can only mean one thing – mass famil time.
Attendees from around the world and New Zealand ventured into Queenstown’s great outdoors yesterday afternoon to sample 44 local tourism activities free of charge.
Organised by Destination Queenstown’s Kylie Brittain and Louise Jennis, the free activities offer invaluable first-hand experiences to travel buyers and media giving the region exposure.
“Last year’s famil afternoon was one of the highlights of TRENZ so we’re delighted to be able to do it again,” Brittain says.
“It gives us an invaluable opportunity to showcase the diversity of our scenery and experiences to some of the world’s most influential travel buyers and media as well as to key tourism people from around NZ.
“Coordinating these famils has been a huge logistical exercise so we’d really like to thank the operators involved for their generosity and patience.”
