Thanks a bunch, girls

These Wakatipu women are spreading hope across the resort this week.

Pictured (from left) are Daffodil Day volunteer coordinators Jan Robertson, Mary May and Shirley Palmer – they and dozens of other volunteers have been delivering the spring flowers as part of the annual Cancer Society fundraiser.

“The daffodil is the first flower of spring and for the Cancer Society it is the flower of hope,” Robertson says.

Fresh bunches were delivered across the resort on Tuesday but there’ll be more available throughout town – as well as other related merchandise – for tomorrow’s Daffodil Day.

“The good thing is all the funds raised stay in Otago and Southland,” says Robertson – herself a survivor of breast cancer.
