Queenstowners are being urged to get behind a special garden tour fundraiser to support tiny tots.
Local Plunket president Jane Hamilton – pictured with daughters Charlotte, 2, and Greta, five months – is helping organise a tour of Wakatipu homeowners’ gardens for keen botany lovers.
Ten private gardens of varying sizes and styles are on the itinerary – the identities will remain secret till the event.
“There’ll be one show-stopper garden which has never been opened to the public in this manner before,” Hamilton says.
The trip, on November 26 from 10am-4pm, concludes with Devonshire tea and a silent auction at Queenstown Country Lodge.
Tickets – from the Plunket rooms, Harcourts, BNZ Queenstown and BNZ Remarkables Park – are $25 or $30 on the day.
Meanwhile, Plunket holds its annual Trash n Treasure event at the Memorial Hall this Sunday from 10am-12pm – not last Sunday as reported last week.
