Sun shines on Queenstown festival

Top Kiwi musicians entertained a crowd of thousands at Queenstown’s biennial music festival on Saturday.

About 3000 revellers turned out for the Shotover Sunshine Festival at the Littles Road site.

Organisers are yet to tally the final ticket sales but believe numbers were slightly down on its inaugural year.

Those music fans that did go were treated to a sun-drenched afternoon with epic performances from Kora, The Black Seeds, Ladi6, Sola Rosa, The Upbeats, Ahoribuzz and Tiki Taane – who took to the stage with his young son.

Police made no arrests and transport problems that affected the 2011 festival appeared to have been rectified.
