Staunch Queenstown supporters keep the America’s Cup faith

And still they wait…
Staunch Queenstown supporters continue their morning ritual – flocking to downtown bars hoping for that final America’s Cup win.

Like a lot of people around the country, Queenstowners pre-work – and (for some) mid-work routine – is to skive off to a local café or bar like Joe’s Garage or Brazz to watch Oracle and Emirates Team New Zealand battle it out on the big screen.

They did so again this morning – and they again went away disappointed after Oracle twice downed the Kiwis in race 14 and 15.

Queenstowner Stephen Royds and mother Sally had returned to their Brazz possie at a table bedecked with a Kiwi flag.

The losses, which left the score at eight to five in favour of ETNZ, did nothing to dampen their spirit, with Stephen packing up but announcing: “We’ll be back tomorrow.”
