Otago rugby players took over from the teachers at Wakatipu schools this week.
Nine Otago rugby players put year seven Queenstown Primary pupils through fitness and team building drills on Monday.
It was no light training run – any kids caught talking had to hit the deck for five push-ups.
Players from the team camp also visited Arrowtown School and St Joseph’s School.
Otago front-rower and ex-All Black Kees Meeuws, 36, (below) says it was a chance for the team to reconnect with the resort.
“We just love giving back to our supporters in the region and over recent years we have really neglected them. It’s our chance to say sorry for being slack. We do appreciate and need their support.”
“We’re building a team for the future and in three years time we want to be in the top five and we hope the public come along for the ride.”
