A snow flurry has hit Queenstown, disrupting flights, closing schools and causing disruptions to drivers in the resort.
Local meteorologist David Crow is staying inside his house today, with an estimated 3-4cm coating the streets and snow chains needed on cars.
“It’s a pretty white world more or less everywhere this morning,” Crow says. “It will improve this afternoon though.”
Queenstown Airport has been closed due to snow on the runway, and with more snow expected until this afternoon, it is unclear when flights will resume.
Some children are making the most of the day at home, testing their snowman making skills.
