Motorists can expect short delays on Kawarau Falls Bridge this coming week.
The New Zealand Transport Agency will carry out essential pre-winter repairs to the bridge deck.
Drivers can expect five-minute delays between 9am-4pm, from Wednesday to Friday, at the bridge on State Highway 6 between Frankton and Kelvin Heights.
The bridge will also be closed for 20 minutes overnight next Monday, May 27, weather permitting.
The $5000 works will reduce road noise and provide a smoother carriageway.
“Every effort is being made to minimise the disruption for road users by doing as much of the work as possible at night,” NZTA area manager John Jarvis says.
“Access will be provided for emergency services at all times and the footbridge will be available at all times as well.”
