Frankton’s KingsView School has been given the tick of approval by the Education Review Office (ERO).
A just-released ERO report gives a glowing take on the primary school, saying it’s “working towards achieving excellent and equitable outcomes for all students”.
“Reports to the board over the last four years show that most students achieve at or above school expectations in reading, writing and mathematics.”
ERO also found the school has a “broad, rich curriculum that uses the local environment and resources to engage students in learning”.
Principal Mike Stanley, who took over the top job last month, says the timing of the report was perfect.
“Coming in as a new principal, it’s very timely really, straight away it identified for me the things that needed to be tidied up.
“For me personally, it was great. I’m really, really pleased to see they picked up on the fact the school has a great family feel to it.”
ERO identified a few things that need work, including strengthening appraisal processes and strengthening internal evaluation processes.
Stanley says there are a few “admin” things that need looking at, but otherwise he’s pleased with the report.
