Santa’s trees and spare some loose change for QLDC, please

Finn Bamford, 7, and Isaak Frewen, 6, admire the upside-down tree of Reveal Event Management at Santa’s Christmas Tree Grotto in the Events Centre.

People can donate a gold coin to see 30 trees sponsored and decorated by local organisations and vote for their favourite tree – all proceeds go to Plunket.

Reveal’s pine was the most popular at the time of printing, with $117.10 donated, while Queenstown Lakes District Council’s tree was lowest – at just $1.30.

There are 10 days left to vote, and Santa’s at the grotto taking wishes between 12-4pm, Thursday to Sunday, till December 21.
