Robotics kids’ switched-on performance

Six uber-bright Wakatipu youngsters stormed to second place in a national robotics competition in Auckland last Saturday.

The Queenstown RoboStormers were competing in the Kiwi FIRST League Robotics Nationals, tasked with designing, building and coding a robot to achieve set challenges within a timeframe.

The team also finished second last year, just days after their coach Martin Wightman died suddenly.

They’ve now qualified for an international competition.
