Robbed kids get TV crew cash gift

These four Arrowtown sisters (from left) Olive, 5, Molly, 10, Nell, 7 and Beth Watherston, 12, who had their roadside honesty box and cash nicked are back in the money – thanks to kids’ telly show Sticky TV.

The Auckland-based presenters and crew from the TV3 programme raised $60 from a whip-round after reading about the children’s woes in Mountain Scene while in Queenstown filming two weeks ago.

The delighted Watherstons had worked hard collecting horse manure to sell at $3 a sack – then their money was pinched, says their dad Andy.

Queenstown Engineering has offered to make a new, secure honesty box for the girls.
