Resort’s first baby sets schedule

Cute-as-a-button Zac Nediljco Hart is the first baby born in Queenstown in 2015.

Zac arrived at Frankton’s Lakes District Hospital at 11.02am on Saturday, January 3 – weighing 7lbs 11oz (3.2kgs).

Mum Juanita Hart says: “We’d planned to go to Invercargill hospital but he had other ideas.

“It was a very short labour. I had pains at 7am, arrived at hospital at 9.30am and he was born at 11.02am – so it was perfect. It means he’s the first baby in Queenstown this year, which is quite cool.”

Zac, who shares his middle name with his Croatian grandfather, is now back at his Arthurs Point home after spending a few days at Lumsden’s maternity hospital.

He’s getting lots of attention from mum, dad Jonathan and older sister Zoe, who’s two-years-old.

“Zoe’s been great, she loves him.” Juanita’s parents Nediljco and Madeline Yovich are also here for a month from Whangarei to help.
