Queenstown’s promotions body is enticing visitors during Rugby World Cup by offering 300 free room nights.
Destination Queenstown is running an online sweepstake from 9am tomorrow (Monday) till 9am the following Monday (August 8). Up for grabs are 150 packages of two consecutive nights for two at one of the New Zealand Hotel Council’s 19 Queenstown hotels.
Winners will be drawn on August 8, and the offer will be valid for bookings made between September 1 and October 31.
DQ chief executive Tony Everitt admits some concerns about hotel price gouging during the World Cup – running from September 9 to October 23 – have been hard to shake off.
“We’re aware that some people might be putting off a trip because they think accommodation may be expensive or hard to find.
“In fact, here in Queenstown there’s still very good availability in our hotels and across all accommodation types and price ranges, during September and October.
“This is great chance for international visitors to bag a bonus for their big trip and kick back in Queenstown over spring while Kiwis looking for a great value getaway will love a spring break here.
“As well as heaps of great events on over the two months, including a Classic All Blacks versus French Classics rugby match (September 18), Taste Queenstown food, wine and arts festivals and the Queenstown Jazz Festival, it’s also the perfect time to visit for some spring skiing, golfing, hiking or biking, as the town shrugs off colder winter temperatures in favour of sunny spring days.”
Details on how to enter DQ’s spring sweepstake are available on the home page of its website, www.queenstownNZ.co.nz – Air NZ is also promoting it to its Facebook and Twitter followers.
