Queenstown’s best at wining and dining and good times

Woop, woop – the best in Queenstown wining and dining and partying were recognised on Sunday night.

The inaugural Southern Lakes Hospitality Awards – dubbed the Remarkables Awards – were dished out across 12 categories covering chefs, waiters, bartenders and baristas.

Industry workers cast the votes for their peers and about 250 hospo staff packed into Queenstown’s Memorial Hall for the ceremony.

An after-party at Shotover Street’s Revolver bar followed.

Restaurant Association of New Zealand chief executive Steve Mackenzie says: “Gaining recognition for those glamorous and some not-so-glamorous jobs in the industry makes it all worthwhile for these people. The winners should be congratulated on a job well done.”
