The funeral of Queenstown man Glenn Simon will be held in Dunedin on Friday.
The body of the popular 37-year-old account manager for Print Central was recovered about 1pm on Monday from inside his vehicle, found partially submerged in Lake Wakatipu.
Simon’s green Ford Festiva was spotted by helicopter near Pig Island off the Glenorchy-Queenstown Road.
Earlier, on Sunday night, he was reported missing by his partner Barbara Horrell after failing to return home to Fernhill.
Queenstown acting police sergeant Blair Duffy says Simon didn’t make it home as anticipated after travelling to Frankton’s New World supermarket to get dinner.
“It was believed Mr Simon was suffering from complications relating to his diagnosed condition of being a type-1 diabetic,” Duffy says.
A number of Simon’s friends and associates joined police, Coast Guard and Queenstown Fire Service in the search.
