Queenstowners feel ill-prepared should a major quake shake the resort, the latest scene.co.nz poll shows.

Christchurch’s devastating, 7.1 earthquake in the early hours of September 4 destroyed buildings and caused havoc in the city and surrounding areas.

In its wake, 65 per cent of Wakatipu people indicate they feel inadequately prepped when asked: “Do you feel sufficiently prepared if an earthquake similar to Christchurch’s big shake hit Queenstown?”

A clear minority – 35 per cent – think they’re ready to deal with it.

Vote on this week’s poll at scene.co.nz – it asks: “Do you support the Queenstown police’s push for 2am closing for all resort bars?”
