Queenstown’s long-serving Anglican vicar David Coles is retiring. The former Bishop of Christchurch, who’s 70, has been the local vicar since 2008. His last Sunday service will be on February 2. Coles – who presided over this year’s 150th anniversary of the parish – and his wife Joy will return to Christchurch. Before moving here he was Bishop of Christchurch for 18 years, following six years as dean of the garden city’s hallowed cathedral.
