Queenstown snow dump disrupts flights

Queenstown flights have been disrupted as snow continues to dump in the resort.

Snow showers have caused Air New Zealand to cancel two inbound and outbound Queenstown flights today (Sunday).

Queenstown Airport’s Kathryn Jolly says a couple of flights have been diverted due to the weather, but “everything else is up in the air depending on how the weather goes”.

Local ski fields Coronet Peak and The Remarkables are open, with both boasting 2cm of fresh snow – but punters will have to brave chilly -8.7 and -10.2 degree temperatures when hitting the slopes.
