Queenstown Primary has been home to 20 little leprechauns celebrating Irish culture today (Friday).
Ahead of St Patrick’s Day tomorrow, the school’s Year 1 class has been learning about Irish traditions and music thanks to their teacher Muireann Carr, from Dublin.
“We’ve been listening to music, dancing, painting leprechauns and shamrocks,” Carr says.
“It’s so they get a bit more understanding about me and who I am and about other places around the world. They’ve just loved it.”
Carr says she’ll be celebrating the day in true Irish style at local bars Pogue Mahones and Morrison’s.
“It’ll be very different from today but I’ll be wearing the same outfit,” she laughs.
