Queenstown kapa haka group’s plea

This new Wakatipu High kapa haka group needs your help.

Te Iti O Tahuna (a slice of Queenstown) is training twice a week before school for regionals in Dunedin on September 21.

By busking and performing, the group has raised $5000 but needs more to cover costs and sponsors are needed.
Wakatipu High’s Ngawai Davis, with help from Kahoki Mikaere, started the group, which must do a moteatea (chant), waiata tira (choral), whakaeke (entrance), whakawatea (ending/exit), haka, poi dance and waiata a ringa (action song).

Tutors are Mahal Brown and Jahmaine Cummings. The top two regional teams go to finals next year.
