Queenstown JazzFest underway – but time almost up for special deal

The Queenstown JazzFest is underway – but time is running out to snap up a two-for-one ticket offer to major events.

The 32nd annual musical extravaganza kicked off last night with an opening gala tribute to Queenstown showbiz powerhouse Margaret O’Hanlon.

Aussie group the Daniel Gassin Trio started today’s line-up with a free midday show at the Village Green downtown.

Punters have until 5pm today (Friday) to take advantage of a generous offer from major sponsor ASB – two tickets for the price of one to major shows at Memorial Hall.

Those gigs are the Peggy Lee Tribute Show at 6pm tonight (Friday), the Big Band Bonanza – featuring Rodger Fox – from 8.30pm, Kiri Winders and her 1940s Jazz Club from 8.30pm on Saturday, and Batucada Sound Machine and Humlai from 8.30pm on Sunday.

To take advantage of the special offer, cut the coupon from page three of this week’s Mountain Scene and take it to the Queenstown Events Centre at Frankton or the downtown Queenstown I-site by 5pm.
