As Queenstown councillors mull a new booze regime, another local bar boss has been pinged for breaking the law.
Surreal duty manager Harmony Katarina Rata is serving a four-week suspension by the Alcohol Regulatory & Licensing Authority for a breach on October 16.
ARLA says Rata “and several other persons” left Surreal at 4.55am.
The bar is licensed until 4am and only “authorised staff members” may remain on licensed premises more than 30 minutes after closing.
Rata, who consented to the suspension, is the 18th local bar boss prosecuted during a blitz beginning early this year.
