Queenstown and Wanaka revel in snow

Skifields in Queenstown and Wanaka – like Treble Cone (pictured) – are revelling in decent conditions.

This shot of TC’s Powder Bowl Chutes taken last Saturday in its Saddle Basin show off the two-metre plus base.
Treble Cone marketing boss Nick Noble says the field – about a 90-minute drive from Queenstown or 35 minutes from Wanaka – is looking great for the school holidays.

It opened at the end of last month, with full snow coverage across its 550 hectares which features one leg-burning 4km run.

In Queenstown, Coronet Peak had a base of 90 cm up top and 50cm below on Sunday, whilst The Remarkables had 130cm up top.
