Powder party up snow fields

It’s been a powder snow party up Queenstown ski fields.

The Remarkables ski area boss Ross Lawrence says the recent snow storm dumped powder that is as light as air on both his ski area and sister field Coronet Peak.

About 4500 skiers and boarders enjoyed the season’s best day (Monday) so far, taking advantage of 40cm of new snow on The Remarkables and more than 25cm on Coronet Peak in the past 24 hours.

“There were lots of ‘yahoos’, lots of excited people, smiles and high fives out there today with fresh snow just adding to the good times,” Lawrence says.
